This notice explains, in plain language, how LEMUR Real Estate of Westlands, Nairobi, handles your personal data. We act as the data controller under the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019, and follow the guidance of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC).
What we collect
- The Nairobi Market Brief: your email address and, if you choose, your first name, your main interest and your country, plus the page you signed up from and the date.
- Investment enquiries: your name, email, country, WhatsApp number and the figures you entered in the ROI calculator.
- Messages and calls: what you tell us on WhatsApp or by phone.
We do not ask for sensitive personal data, and we collect only what we need.
How we use it, and why we may
- To send you the monthly brief. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by subscribing.
- To reply to an enquiry you sent us about a property. Our basis is taking steps you asked for before a possible transaction.
- To keep records that the law requires of us.
We never use your details for anything unrelated to these purposes.
We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run this website and send email, who process it on our instructions and must keep it secure. Some of these providers may store data outside Kenya; where they do, we rely on the safeguards the Act requires.
How long we keep it
Brief subscribers: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a record that you opted out so we don't email you again. Enquiries: up to two years after our last contact, unless a transaction requires longer.
Your rights
Under the Act you may ask to be informed about how we use your data, to access it, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to object to its use, including for direct marketing. You may withdraw consent at any time.
How to unsubscribe
Use the unsubscribe page, or message us on WhatsApp at +254 795 788 539. We act on requests promptly.
